Kawasaki has recently unveliled 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 at EICMA in Milan, an older sibling of Z800. Although the design lines look quite similar, what sets it apart is its more aggressive looks and most importantly, a new and modern engine!
It’s been nearly forty years since the launch of Kawasaki Z1 and this newly added machine will carry the Z family legend forward.
2014 Kawasaki Z1000 comes with 1,043 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-stroke in-line Four stroke engine mated to six speed transmission and generates maximum power of 142 PS rpm and maximum torque of 111 Nm
The engine has been worked over recently launched ZX10R that means there are new intake cams and more aggressive ECU settings for improved throttle response and more bottom-to-midrange power. Z1000 is the most powerful naked litre class bike in the world.
Kawasaki has already introduced ZX14R and ZX10R faired motorcycles in India and they have further plans of launching Z1000 and Z800. After KTM having created a rage of naked fast bikes here, very soon we will witness the Kawasaki naked bikes proudly riding on the streets! The competition is not with KTM, but with Yamaha Fz1, Ducati monster and not to forget the newly launched Triumph Speed Triple. Z1000 will come to India by CBU route and expect the bike to be priced at around Rs. 13-14 lakh. Some Kawasaki dealers have already started accepting unofficial bookings of the bike and deliveries will begin in January 2014.
