The VW Polo GT twins have been the current favorites for hot-hatch enthusiasts in India. So much so, that despite the Rs. 9 Lakh+ on road price, the car demanded a waiting period running into months. Enthusiasts waiting for their cars were then left high and dry when VW halted production of the GT twins to make way for the new 2014 Polo GP, which were launched in July 2014. VW announced that the GT twins and the Cross will be launched in the months of September- October 2014.
But fret not, because we have some really good news for you. We have confirmed information that production of the face-lifted Polo GT TSI has already begun. Cars are expected to reach dealerships in the next 3-4 days, and deliveries will follow soon after.
However, deliveries of the GT TDI and the Cross Polo will begin later.
The GT TSI will be available in 3 colours: Candy White, Carbon Steel and Flash Red.
We wish VW could come up with more exclusive colour options for the GT twins. Also, omission of the Black colour will be a disappointment to many.
Dealerships will first clear existing bookings (carried over from the previous GT TSI bookings) and then allot cars for fresh bookings.
The 2014 VW Polo GT TSI is powered by the same turbocharged 1.2L TSI engine, mated to a 7 Speed DSG Transmission. The GT TSI is priced at Rs. 7.99 L ex-showroom.
