The Indian bike segment is flooded with new releases and upcoming launches. Joining the brigade is the Japanese sport bikes manufacturer Honda- with plans to launch the new 2015 Honda CBR 150R in Indonesia first, before the bike hits the Indian shores.
The entry-level sport bikes the Honda CBR 150R and 250R, have seen sluggish sales in the Indian market and with the launch of the 2015 Honda CBR 150R, the Japanese company hopes to increase its market share.
The new CBR 150R comes with a few changes that differentiates it from its current counterpart. As seen in the spy picture, the CBR 150R now comes with a more subtle and elegant graphic design as compared to the ” loud” graphics on the current model. The design of the new CBR 150R is heavily inspired from its bigger sibling the 300R and now sports a dual-headlamp instead of the single piece headlamp, the exhaust is less bulky and more cylindrical, front and rear disk brakes and the faring gets a sharper and sportier look.
The 2015 CBR 150R will continue with the same 149.4cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, that produces 18 PS of power and 12.66 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which is capable of reaching a top speed of 134km/h.
The 2015 Honda CBR 150Rwill face tough competition from its rivals such as the KTM Duke 200, RC200, Yahama R15 and Pulsar 200ss. Honda really needs to pull up their socks in order to compete strongly in the Indian bike market and we hope that the CBR 150R does bring about a change for the Japanese sports bike company.
