2016 Audi Q7 to launch in December

2016 Audi Q7 is scheduled to make its Indian debut in December. It will come through the CBU route initially.

Audi India is all set to launch the facelift of its very successful SUV, the 2016 Audi Q7 in December. The new SUV will be brought into the Indian market via the CBU route initially. However, the local assembling is expected to commenece in mid 2016. This is the second generation of the VW group owned Audi’s flagship, SUV. It was showcased at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.

The new 2016 Audi Q7 is based on a completely new design language. The SUV is now less bulky not only on the visual side but the SUV is now 300 kg. lighter. Other changes on the exteriors include a single piece hexagonal grille, new LED lights, new headlamp, revised bumpers and a new rear set up.

The interiors are also refreshed. The SUV will come with a new MMI infotainment system which is accessible using the touch screen. It packs a lot of features for entertainment like Bluetooth interface, 2 USB ports and the Audi sound system. It is expected to offer an optional 12.3-inch virtual screen. It houses dual-tone sports dashboard.

The new Audi Q7 will be powered by a 3.0-liter, V-6, TDI engine which will give out 265 HP and 590 NM of peak torque. This diesel engine will be mated on an 8-speed, tiptronic automatic gearbox with paddle shifters which sends power to all the four wheels using the Quattro system. This engine will help the SUV do 0-100 km/hr in just 6.5 seconds. However, the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/hr. Audi has claimed a mileage of 17.60 kmpl.

When launched, it will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GL class and the BMW X5. The new 2016 Audi Q7 is expected to be priced between INR 80-90 lakhs.
