2016 Skoda Superb is expected to make its Indian debut in early 2016.
The 2016 Skoda Superb has been spied without camouflage by a reader of Motoroids. The new generation of the luxury saloon was spied without any camouflage. The new generation was unveiled at the Forum Karlín in Prague in February this year. The new saloon is awaited in the Indian market since then.
The new 2016 Skoda Superb is based on Volkswagen’s new MQB architecture. It measures 4861 mm in length, 1468 mm in height and the width is 1864 mm. This makes the new generation 28 mm longer and 47 mm wider from predecessor. The wheelbase has also been increased by 80 mm.
The new 2016 Skoda Superb is designed by Josef Kaban, Design Chief, Skoda. Josef has made the saloon look more lively. The exteriors of the new generation are totally different from that of the existing. The new saloon gets new headlamps and the new Skoda grille in the front. The sides have a high waistline that reaches the rear with a glass house similar to the Octavia. The rear gets new LED tail lamps and sharper edges along with a boot lid spoiler.
The engine options globally offered with new 2016 Skoda Superb consists of five TSI petrol units and three TDI diesel engines. However, the Indian market cane expect only 1.8-liter, 2.0-liter TSI engines and the 2.0-liter TDI. Both of these motors will be mated on a six speed DSG gearbox.
The interiors as seen in spied images have super luxurious features. Almost entire interior is covered by leather. The list of other features includes heated seats, three zone air conditioning, a new infotainment system based on Volkswagen’s Modularer Infotainment-Buakasten) technology, sliding and tilting electronic panoramic sunroof, automatic wipers and headlamps and many more. The 2016 Skoda Superb is the first one to get Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) including driving modes.
