The 4th Generation Honda City has become the fastest mid-size sedan in India to achieve the 1 lakh sales mark, hitting the magical figure in just 15 months since its launch. With a strong sales performance throughout its career, Honda Cars India registered 101,299 units of cumulative sales for the latest generation City since it was launched here in January 2014.

After Honda’s entry into the diesel segment in India with the 1.5-litres iDTEC turbocharged diesel engine in the Honda Amaze, the 4th Generation Honda City became the second car from Honda’s stable to be powered by this diesel motor. The city is also available in India with a highly refined and powerful 1.5-litre iVTEC normally aspirated petrol engine. First introduced in India in January 1998, the previous 3 generations of the Honda City had found over 4.3 lakhs homes across the country and had been the country’s most successful sedan.
