Launched alongside the new Bajaj Pulsar AS 200 is the new Bajaj Pulsar AS 150. Much like the new AS 200, the new 150cc variant in the Bajaj Pulsar Adventure Sport range comes with a front fairing and several panels of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. Launched at an attractive price point of INR 79000, the new 150cc Pulsar is also the most powerful and feature-equipped 150cc Pulsar money can buy. It also becomes the first Pulsar to feature the manufacturer’s new age 150cc Triple Sparkplug equipped motor.
Much like the AS 200, the new Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 gets a long list of features, which includes 17 inch mag wheels, petal-disc brake at front, digital speedo, clip-on styled handlebars, split grab-rails and the projector headlamp. However, what it misses out is the rear disc brake that is available on the AS 200. Powering this bike a new generation 150cc DTSi (Tri-Spark) engine that comes mated to a slick shifting 5-speed manual transmission. Max power is rated at a segment leading 17 PS, while the peak torque is rated at 13 Nm.
The Pulsar 150 AS, akin to the more powerful and more expensive AS 200, borrows a lot of body panels from the 200 NS. The deviation occurs at the front end, where it gets a neatly designed fairing. Bajaj claims that it has worked hard on the bike’s front-end, which means that the fairing should help the latest Pulsar enjoy a low coefficient of drag.
Bajaj plans to sell up to 10000 units of this new bike every month, and given the aggressive price tag, long list of features and a powerful motor, the new Pulsar AS 150 should really find a lot of takers. What say?
