In 2014 Auto expo Bajaj surprised everyone with the unveiling of new Pulsar 200SS. Along with Pulsar 200SS they have also showcased new upcoming CS400. The new bike is expected to be launched in December 2014, production of the new bike has already started at their production plant in Chakan, Pune. New Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS looks similar to company’s Bajaj 400cc concepts, except the new body graphics and decals on the rear side.
It will also have the lower engine capacity compare 400cc concept, while the post fix ‘SS’ denotes ‘Super Sport’. Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS will share the same platform as the Pulsar 200 NS but has a meaner looking body frame like a toned down production version of the Hero Hastur concept motorcycle. Pulsar 200SS will fully faired version, unlike for the existing Pulser 200 NS. Till now Bajaj didn’t had any fully faired motorcycle. Pulsar 200 SS will be the first under the Bajaj line up which will also come equipped with the fuel-Injection unit as standard equipment.
It features dual projector headlights, clip on handlebar, split seat, small exhaust on the right side and sporty alloy wheels. The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS is expected to get power from 199.5 cc single cylinder, four stroke, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine which can able to produce max power 23.52 BHP and peak torque of 18.3 NM at 8000 RPM. The engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. The power from the engine to the rear wheel will be transmitted via a chain set. Expect the bike also to accommodate mono-shock suspension at the rear and telescopic forks at the front. Apparently, there is also optional Anti lock Braking System (ABS) at least on the top end variant. The upcoming new bike will be expected to be priced slightly above the 200 NS because of addition of Fl units and ABS which is optional. It will come with a price tag over 1 lakh.
