BMW launches the all new 2014 BMW X3 SUV in India. The new X3 is a face-lifted version of the current model with minor changes to the exterior and interior, but the main difference that sets the new 2014 BMW X3 apart from its current siblings- is the different powertrain available under the hood.
BMW has officially revealed the prices for the new BMW X3 variants which are:
BMW X3 xDrive20d Expidation model: Rs 44,90,000
BMW X3 xDrive20d xLine model: Rs 49,90,000
The 2014 BMW X3 sports a more aggressive styling quotient than its current counterpart. The front facade of the 2014X3 sports 2- kidney shaped chromed grilles, with a 3D effect to it, newly designed and sharper looking headlamps which are infused with the front grille, a new front bumper, new wing mirrors, a new rear bumper and sporty looking alloy wheels sum up the exterior changes to the X3, which is heavily inspired from its big brother the BMW X5.
Moving to the interiors, BMW has tweaked up the cabin with a newly designed center console, leather-fit steering wheel, new cup holders, new interior trim strips along with new options of exterior colors and upholstery. Along with the creative features BMW has also introduced new driver assistance and infotainment features such as automatic parking assistance, smart-opener for the automatic tailgate and storage package, a head-up display and an updated navigation system featured on the touchscreen iDrive controller by BMW.
Apart from the aesthetic changes in the new BMW X3, the main changes lie under the hood, where the new X3 will get the latest-generation turbocharged diesel engine, which combines more power and a better economy than the current models. The BMW X3 is powered by a X3 xDrive20d- 2.0 liter, twin-power, turbo diesel engine, ehich uses commom rail direct injection to churn out 190 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8- speed automatic transmission, which is capable of clocking the 0- 100km/h in 8.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h.
BMW has really stepped it up where the engine is concerned and the company is focused to provide its customers with a powerful engine combined with a good fuel efficiency and they have done just that with the 2014 BMW X3. We hope the new powerful, fuel efficient X3 will be able to challenge its rivals the Audi Q5, Land Rover Freelander and the Volvo XC60. The company is enjoying its success with its BMW products in India and is further planning to launch the BMW M3, the M4 and the BMW i8 to strengthen their market share on Indian soil.
