M&M has worked on many aspects of the car to make it look and feel updated. The biggest change is the all new chassis. The new Scorpio will be the first car in the M&M line-up to get the company’s new body-on-frame chassis. The new chassis will make the new car stiffer and handle better than before. Handling was never a good point with the Scorpio, but this new update is supposed to erase all of that.

Under the bonnet though, the new Scorpio will continue to employ the 2.2 mHawk turbo diesel engine. It produces 120 bhp of power and 29.57 kgm of torque. Power will not have a very large increase over these figures, but it will be available at a lower rev range. M&M has changed the gearbox and adopted a new 5-speed ‘box which is slicker than before.

New headlights, DRLs, a refreshed front and rear bumpers and a new design of the iconic vertical-slab-grille will adorn the car. The tail-lamps have been given LED treatment for a more upmarket look.

The biggest change on the inside is the new instrument cluster with a MID and new dials. The AC vents are now squarish and chromed. The seats will be more comfortable and the dashboard will have dual opening glove box.

The Scorpio debuted in 2002 and has changed the face of M&M as a company and has brought smiles to many urban and rural customers.

The new Mahindra Scorpio will be priced about INR 30,000 more than the outgoing model.
