Renault is likely to launch the facelifted 2013 edition of the Renault Fluence very soon. Tamil auto magazine Motor Vikatan first put up the spy shots of the facelifted Renault Fluence running on Chennai streets. If rumours along the grapevine are true, the updated model has already entered production stage.
First shown to the world in 2012 at the Istanbul auto show, this is a mid-life facelift and the updates seem to primarily be cosmetic in nature. We expect this model to retain its existing 1.5 liter K9K diesel which is good for 110 BHp & 240Nm. The petrol powered version is powered by a 2 liter until linked up with a CVT transmission.
So what’s new on the car? Well not much except for the usual bits and bobs. Photos suggest an updated front end with differently styled headlights, a redesigned front grille that will be shared across the Renault family and a restyled front bumper sporting new LED daytime running lights. Wheels get a slight update with a different design seen on the alloy wheels. Internally, expect a changed upholstery design. Nothing else seems very different from the current model except that the top-end variants will be equipped with Renault’s new fangled R-Link multimedia system also containing GPS.
Renault has already declared its 2014 plans suggesting launches of refreshed versions of the Fluence, Duster & Koleos. This year won’t see them launching an all new India spec model and the consumer will have to make do with cosmetic changes alone.
