The Indian motorcycle segment seems to be continuously enjoying the limelight, with hot news about the RC 390, RC 200 launches and the Yahama R25 product model pictures, but currently hogging the limelight is the Hero HX250R, which is said to launch this November.
Hero MotorCorp reveled the Sportsbike earlier at the Auto Expo, but now is set and ready to launch its most powerful bike the Hero HX250R, which is built-in association with technical partner EBR (Erik Buell Racing). The HX250R is powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, fuel-injected DOHC, liquid cooled engine, which will produce 31 PS of power and 26 Nm of torque, mated to a 6- speed transmission, which will be able to clock a 0- 60km/h in 2.7 seconds and reach an approximate top speed of 160km/h.
Along with its powerful engine, the HX250R is built on a geodesic tubular frame, keeping the weight of the bike upto 139kgs, which means the HX250R should handle well at the same be able to accelerate to high speeds. The HX250R adds on to its sporty look with a full fairing, aluminium foot rests, twin headlamps with LED, rear LED tail lights, an underseat exhaust, split seats and front and rear disc brakes glorify the all black alloy wheels, with an ABS option also available.
Hero MotorCorp may plan to price the HX250R approximately between 1.5 lakhs- 1.65 lakhs (ex- showroom). With rivals such as Honda 250R, Ninja 300, KTM RC series, the upcoming Pulsar 200 SS and Mahindra Mojo, the launch of the HX250R will take the level of competition to the next level and we shall wait and watch, as the heat increases which bike has it to emerge on top.
