Another week passes by and i get the chance to review the week in automotive news for those of you busy to look at AutoColumn during the week. New Audi A4 images surfaced on the interweb, Toyota named its world’s first series production Fuel cell vehicle as MIRAI. The Mirai is a four door sedan with typical Japanese futuristic body style. You will find many similarities in the Mirai and the FCV concept which Toyota showcased in Tokyo last year. The major hurdle for Fuel Cell Vehicles (FCVs) has been the safety factor when working with hydrogen. AutoColumn’s very own product designer Nav analysis Renault’s Duster concept and he says only this time the chopping is not haphazard. The inspiration for the concept apparently is kite-surfing. The rear has been designed to stack multiple surfboards. Read Renault Oroch Concept detailed right here.
BMW India had a great week with the launch of the new Mini in Mehboob studio Mumbai. The 3 door Mini and 5 door Mini launched at a price of INR 31,85,000 and INR 35,20,000.
Indian homegrown automaker Mahindra and American automaker Ford recalled their cars for various faulty parts. It is found that ever since auto industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) started a voluntary recall for safety related issues in July 2012, various manufactures recalled over 700,000 vehicles, including Maruti, Honda, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, General Motors (Chevrolet) Mahindra and Audi.
The last but not the least Mercedes Maybach S600 had its world premiere in Auto Guangzhou 2014. The new S-class is truly beautiful and luxurious car, from the exterior it looks magnificent and emphatic lines on the cars gives dynamic looks to the car.
