Football is to Brazil what Baseball is to the US. Hence Nissan decided to showcase a concept car with the nomenclature “Kick”. The Nissan Kick is supposedly “inspired from the streets of Brazil” and has been designed by the Nissan studio in Brazil(i did not know that either). With Brazil being the main market, India might just get the Kick a few years down the line as all manufacturers agree both countries have similar demographics.

On the whole, Toyota looks like it is going great guns in India with the response to the new Camry and perennial high sales of the Innova and (white) Fortuners, but it is not so. In fact the car maker is struggling in the affordable segment of cars and hence is looking at sister company Daihatsu for help in launching small cars.

Menawhile, Fiat has entered into a JV with Tofas in Turkey to build three cars for them starting 2016. This will include the Bravo, the Linea sedan and a new station-wagon.

Mitsubishi has started accepting bookings for the Pajero Sport Automatic. The car will be available with a 2WD option only and will continue  with the 2.5L 16-valve intercooled turbocharged DOHC engine with power and torque outputs of 178 PS (175.49 bhp) at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 2,000–2,500 rpm.

7Seater WagonR confirmed by Suzuki. The MPV segment is getting more and more attention in India and the market is growing continuously. Based on Suzuki WagonR 3 row concept, Maruti Suzuki confirmed 7 seater WagonR.

Our friends spotted a Blue MS Ciaz, which has again given Maruti something to smile about. It has already surpassed Honda City in terms of bookings in the last month. Entering  a new car, with not so good history in the segment, to compete against a car ruling the segment for the past decade and surpassing it is quite an achievement.

Also spotted this week was the Maruti Suzuki YRA hatchback . The car will be launched next year and will compete in the Premium Hatchback segment against the VW Polo.
