Jaguar has teased an image of what could be the XE-S version of the much anticipated XE sedan.
We come to know its the S version from the S badge on the front grille. The Jaguar XE-S will be powered by a 3.0 litre V6 from the Oh so gorgeous! F-Type S. And this is not just rumors, the company has confirmed this engine for the XE earlier. Although the performance figures will be different, the engine produces 340 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque in the F-Type Roadster.
This engine will be available over the range of Ingenium engines, which Jaguar has developed recently. These engines were designed to get high power output with very less emissions. One of the smaller engines will develop less than 100g/km of CO2 while the biggest one will power the car to 186 mph.
The Jaguar XE is the only car car in the segment to feature a full aluminium monocoque. Jaguar claims the XE is “set to be the most advanced, efficient and refined sports sedan in its class”. Will it dethrone the BMW 3-Series as a drivers car, only time will tell but if looks are to be believed, the Jaguar wins hands down.
If this doesn’t impress you, the next sentence might just peak your attention. There are rumors on atop-of-the-range XER-S version with a supercharged 5.0litre V8 engine from the F-Type R coupe which produces 550 Ps of power.
The XE, and we hope the XE-S, will be launched in London on the 8th of September,2014 followed by a global roll out next year.
