Lamborghini has gained popularity around the world as a sportcar manufacturer in the last decade. The Italian manufacturer has its roots deep in the history of the automobile world. The company was till recent times known for its flamboyant driving. But the things have changed lately with the launch of the company’s most successful model Lamborghini Aventador. The Aventador was the most driver friendly car Lamborghini had ever built. But, what followed the Aventador was even more human. That is the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 which was even more civilized than the beast. The buyers seemed to like the civilized avatar of the Lamborghini cars which was seen in the sales report.
This seems the reason that the Italian manufacturer is here with an all new Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2. The new rear wheel drive Lambo is powered by a giant 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated V10 engine that is capable of delivering a max power of 580 PS which is 30 PS less than the four-wheel drive Huracan but it actually doesn’t matter because the new car is 33 kgs. lighter than the previous version. The engine is mated on a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox with paddle shifters.
The entire car has been tuned up to match the new rear-wheel drive system. The suspension setup, steering control, traction control and the stability program have undergone changes. Other cosmetic changes include larger air dams, new Kari alloy wheels with Pirelli Pzero tyres specially developed for the rear-wheel drive Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2. The car is claimed to do a 0-100 in just 3.4 seconds. The manufacturer has claimed a top speed of 320 km/hr.
“We are delighted to be unveiling the Huracan LP 580-2 in India within just three days of its global launch,” said Pavan Setty India Head Lamborghini. “This is the purist expression of Huracan till date with class leading technological refinements designed to deliver sheer performance,” he added.
The Indian launch of such an expensive supercar just 3 days after the global debut makes us realize that the world leading automobile manufacturers see India as a very important market.
