Seen above is an image of what could be a test mule of the Mahindra XUV 500 facelift. This images comes from the nice people at Exhaustvid Facebook page. If this spy image is anything to go by, the xuv could be in the process of getting some chrome for its tailgate and registration plate enclosure. Please note that these elements come finished in black in the current model.
The new Mahindra XUV 500 launch in India could take place around April next year and the new model is likely to go on sale at the same price as that of the existing version. Also, it is said that the XUV 500 facelift will come with new design alloy wheels. In all chances, the XUV will also get a revised front fascia that might come with a new grille and a slightly different bumper. On the inside, it is very likely the car will get a new dashboard and a some new panels. The XUV 500 could also get some additional features.
Under the hood, the XUV could remain unchanged. The flagship Mahindra passenger vehicles is powered by a 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine that develops a peak power of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1,600-2,800 rpm. While the power figures might be left unchanged, the fuel efficiency could be enhanced slightly by tweaking the gear ratios. Talking about the gearbox. the SUV comes with a six speed manual transmission. There are chances though that the XUV 500 will get an automatic gearbox for the high end four wheel drive variant.
