The Ertiga has been around for almost four years now and this is usually the time to give a car an injection of botox. That is what Maruti Suzuki intended to do. The spy shots of the undisguised, facelifted Ertiga have been spotted on the internet for the first time. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be globally revealed at the 2015 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Autos Show) on August 20.
The updated Maruti Ertiga is expected to continue with the choice of power plants available in the current version.
Speaking on its engines, they will remain the same of the previous Ertiga; however, they would be tweaked for some improved fuel efficiency. The pre-facelift model with the 1.4-liter K-Series petrol sees an efficiency of 16.02 km/l while the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine delivers 20.77 km/l, both of which are not class-leading figures.
On the exterior we can see a new three slat grill , chrome eyebrows over the fog lamps, redesigned bumper. On the rear the tail lamps haven’t changed. A chrome bridge connecting the tail lights with Ertiga embossed on it gives a wider look to it. Additional reflector light have been given space on the rear bumper. The alloy wheels have also been tweaked a bit.
On the inside, we might get engine Start/Stop button, chrome circumference for the speedometer and tachometer. Other updates include new 3rd row seats with 50:50 split fold, new fabric seat upholstery, and new colors for the steering wheel, floor carpet, gear-knob and dashboard.
The most notable change would be a new variant which will include an AMT. Maruti desires to have an automatic transmission in each segments and this is inline with that strategy. The car should be launched in India within next couple of months.
