Maruti Suzuki has launched a special edition of its people carrier, the Ertiga, to commemorate the sale of 150,00 units of the car in India. The Ertiga limited edition will feature petrol, CNG as well as the diesel engine with prices starting at INR 6.76 lk for petrol, INR 7.34 lk for the CNG and INR 8.05 lk for the diesel (all prices are ex- delhi).
Maruti Suzuki limited edition gets 10-spoke alloy wheels, funky decals, a rear spoiler and chrome on the door handles. The front grille also features chrome and (if you remember) is similar to the Indonesian version of the Ertiga. A new paint scheme, Pearl Blaze Blue and a white-silver shade along with the ones mentioned above are the only changes on the exteriors of the car.
The number of changes on the inside are more though and include rear parking sensors, a new audio system, wooden trim around the instrument panel and door trims and limited edition floor mats. Maruti has not tinkered under the hood of the special edition Ertiga and it will continue with the same 1.4-litre petrol engine (94 bhp) and an 89 bhp 1.3-litre diesel engine.
Maruti has also added an accessory kit as an option which will cost you INR 6,190 over the cost of the car.
The Ertiga was launched in India at the right time to counter the large Innova. The Ertiga became the vehicle of choice for people who wanted the 5+2 seating but in a car with small dimensions. It was launched in 2012 when other manufacturers just started making plans for the segment and therefore it now has a lead of two years over the Honda Mobilio.
