Pioneers of the Indian car market, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd(MSIL), launched a limited edition of the entry-level Alto 800 called the Alto 800 Maximum. This limited edition launch by MSIL is to commemorate the hatchbacks milestone of 25 lakh Altos on the road. The Alto 800 hatchback is India’s highest selling vehicle, but it lost out to its bigger sibling the Swift DZire a couple of times and is set to make a comeback, to top the charts with the limited edition Alto 800 Maximum model.
The Alto 800 Maximum was launched, offering benefits up to Rs 66,666 along with a few added features such as: new body decals, keyless entry, art leather seat covers, a new music system, a rear roof spoiler and side body moldings.
The new limited edition Alto 800 Maximum comes with the same, 800cc, F8D, 3-cylinder, petrol engine , which produces 48 PS of power and 69 Nm of torque. The Alto 800 Maximum is also available with a company-fitted CNG kit and in both the petrol as well as the CNG variants, the engine, will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Alto 800 Maximum will face tough competition from its rivals Hyundai eon, Tata Nano, Chevrolet Spark and the Datsun GO. The Alto 800 captures the market with its affordable price, cheap-to-maintain and good mileage. We hope that the Alto 800 Maximum will climb up to the top spot, as the highest selling car in the Indian market.
