Buckle-up, it’s coming soon- Mercedes AMG has released yet another teaser video announcing the official debut of the 2015 Mercedes AMG GT on September 9.
The Mercedes AMG-GT has undergone its development and testing process over a grueling period of 32 months and has been wrapped in 2,974 sq. meters of camouflage sheets. The AMG-GT has been tested by 50 drivers in 15 different countries, with weather conditions varying from – 30 – 50 degree Celsius and in the pouring rain as well. Mercedes made sure that “0 comprises” were made during its development process in order to present the world with a masterpiece in engineering.
The Mercedes sportscar will be powered by a newly developed 4.0 liter, twin-turbo, V8 engine, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which will produce 510 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. The insane acceleration on the AMG-GT will be able to clock the 0 – 100 km/h in under 3.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 312km/h. The beast will also be available in a de-tuned variant a little later which is called M178 (codename) and will produce 462 PS of power.
Already described as “ the most beautiful Mercedes ever designed”, the AMG-GT is inspired by the SLS design and sports pulled-back headlamps, a new front grille, larger lower air-dams, rear active spoiler, a quad-exhaust system and 19-inch alloy wheels shall be the design highlights along with the streamlined aerodynamically designed body frame. The interior is designed as an airplane cockpit with roof mounted controls and hi-tech technological features.
The Mercedes AMG-GT will face competition from the likes of the Jaguar F-type, Audi R8 and the Porche 911. We hope the AMG-GT shall power its way past its rivals speeding to attain the top spot in the Sportscar segment.
