This is the motorcycle that every adventure riding motorcycle enthusiast is looking for. The 390 Adventure is coming in 2016 and we also have confirmation about KTM 200 Adventure. But finally there is good news and a lot of hope from this bike. AutoColumn is sure that just like Duke 390 and Duke 200 these bikes will be priced very pocket friendly to end user. We expect the price of 390 adventure will be around 2.5 lakh. Both these bikes will get an engine from their siblings Duke 390 and Duke 200 and will get styling of KTM 1050 Adventure. The engines are 373cc 43bhp and 200cc. There is a niche demand for such bike and many people tried plonking Karizma engine on Hero impulse chassis, converting RE with dirt bike kit suitable for touring but nothing came out from brands like Bajaj, Hero and Honda. Mahindra showcased Mojo 300 back in 2010 AutoExpo but it looks like Mahindra wants to keep the bike with themselves than giving it to the customer. It’s been 4 years that Mojo 300 is still in rounds of testing.

Coming back to the KTM 390 Adventure and 200 Adventure, both these bikes belong to the Husqvarna brand, design parent is KTM, enduro style with project codes as WHITESPACE BJ M3 for 200 Adventure and WHITESPACE BJ M4 for 390 Adventure.

2. Avenger 375

The original Avenger design belongs to Kawasaki and the bike was available under the Kawasaki brand with Eliminator name. Bajaj later brought the same design with Pulsar 220  engine, then with 200 engine and now the upcoming bike is coming with 375 engine that will also be shared with Pulsar 375 NS and SS. We also heard that Bajaj is working on Avenger 250, based on Pulsar 200 Ns engine.

3. Harley Street 500

The last but not list from the scoop factory is Harley Street 500. Harley Devidson is finally bringing street 500 in India this year. Currently the entry level bike from HD in India is street 750 and Harley India also communicated at IBW that they have no plans to launch Street 500 in India yet. If this comes to India as per our sources, it will be a tough fight between newly developed Royal Enfield’s 750cc engine and 500 cc engine.

To sum it up,

KTM 390  Adventure  in 2016, KTM 200 Adventure  in 2016, Avenger 375 and Avenger 250 in 2016 again and finally the entry level Harley by end of this Year. We are happy with all these bikes that are targeted to a variety of buyers. Most important is finally the gap is getting filled for serious touring and adventure enthusiasts.
