Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, has just bought his latest car: the most powerful, and armoured Mercedes Benz for his personal security.

Mercedes Benz S600
The fortified Benz is mounted on a normal S600. The RIL car has Level-9 vehicle resistance (VR9), the highest available currently. It was customised at Benz’s Sindelingen plant in Germany. The car costs near 10 crore with registration alone taking up 1.5 crore
The car is a regular BMW 760i which costs 1.9 crore on road. But as per Mr Ambani’s Z category security requirement, it was armoured by BMW Germany. Since the import duty on armoured cars is 300%, the cost of the car ballooned to Rs. 8.5 crore, hence the high registration cost alone was 1.6 crore which is 20% of the car price according to rules.
Bentley Flying Spur
Flying Spur is a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine that puts out 616bhp and 81.57kgm of torque, making it the most powerful four-door Bentley ever. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed ZF gearbox and 0-100kph is dispatched in approximately 4.3 seconds.

Rolls Roycee Phantom
Rolls Royce epitomizes luxury and the Phantom is one of the best and most expensive of the cars produced. Only a distinguished few can buy them and Mr Ambani is one of them. The car costs a cool Rs. 4 crore.
The Maybach by Daimler AG is a revival of the original Maybach series from the early 19th century. A top-end luxury car, the Maybach was placed ahead of Rolls-Royce and Bentley in the Luxury Brand Status Index of 2008. It costs INR 4.85 crore for a 6 Litre V12 monster underneath its hood with a top speed of more than 350 kph.
