Long journeys over gravel roads in off-road terrain if needed no road terrain just got better. Honda has unveiled 2018 Africa Twin with its anniversary model at EICMA and it has got serious upgrades. The bike now gets additional 5.4-liter fuel tank and a total range is now 500kms in one tank.
On long touring rides, the seating position is extremely important and hence Honda went more upright with new Africa Twin Adventure Sports. The new wind protection panel is improved for aerodynamics and a less direct hit of the ram air. New Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports is also equipped with the Ride by Wire system and HSTC traction control now.
On the engine side, a new air-box is added and improved exhaust to boost the mid-range. There is no change in the peak power and torque figures but the addition of 7 stage traction control is ice on the cake.
While the fuel tank added weight to the bike, a new lithium-ion battery reduced 2.3kg from the bike. The motorcycle also features a new extended 22mm suspension travel, wider footpegs for increased control and a bigger sump guard. The wheels now get stainless steel spokes and brakes remain same as per previous models.
Last but not the least, the bike is offered with an optional quick shifter and the new model comes with an option of the tri-color paint scheme that celebrates 30 years of original XRV650 from 1988.
2018 Honda CRF Africa twin comes with 998cc parallel twin engine that pumps 94 bhp at 7500rpm and has 900mm of seat height. The bike weighs 243kg for manual shift version and 253kg in the DCT version.
