Recently, we posted about the new Jaguar XF Executive Edition, which was launched in our country a couple of days back. And now, on this page, we have some details on the all new Jaguar XF release date and other relevant topics. The new Jaguar XF will make its public debut at next year’s New York motor show, which will take place in April, and in all probability, the next generation of the popular Jaguar executive sedan will be highly more potent against the German rivals than the current model. As is the case with the current generation Jaguar XF, the upcoming model will take on the likes of Mercedes Benz E Class, BMW 5 series and the Audi A6.
From the looks of it, the next generation Jaguar XF will be slightly bigger, will have a sharper styling and probably more potent powerplants. In all likelihood, the next XF will look like a bigger XE, which is looking all set to become the entry-level sedan in the famous British carmaker’s line-up. Even on the inside, the car will dray heavy inspiration from the XE sedan, which means it will look very modern and would come with cutting edge features such as a really advanced infotainment system, InControl Apps system and a list of other advanced features.
Underpinning the 2016 Jaguar XF will be an all-aluminium iQ[Al] platform that was first seen on the Jag C-X17 concept in 2013. This highly flexible platform is much lighter than the current XF’s architecture and should make the upcoming model upto 100kgs lighter than the current car. Powering the new gen XF would be the carmaker’s Ingenium engine range, which are again as much as up to 80kgs lighter than the Ford engines that are currently in use. All this weight saving should mean that the next XF would be both quicker and more frugal.
In most probability, the new Jaguar XF India launch would take place in 2017, which means that the car is still some time away from us. Stay tuned to AutoColumn for more updates on the new Jaguar XF Release date and other related details.
