It seems like the nice people at Toyota Kirloskar India have been working really hard readying the all new Toyota Innova MPV, which is expected to make its world premiere next year. It is expected that the new generation model will be first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 and our country would be among the first few markets to get the refreshed avatar of the highly popular model. The all new Toyota Innova was recently spotted being tested in Bangalore, which is the hometown for TKM and we have some images of the nest generation of Toyota’s highest selling car in India.
As is evident from the high amount of camouflage on the test mule here, the next generation Toyota Innova would be completely re-skinned and as per various reports have gone through, would be built on a new platform. However, the car will not be a monocoque architecture and will continue to boast of a ladder on frame architecture. While the 2016 Innova would feature a new design, it would still have many cues that would pay homage to the current design. From what we can make out from these images here, the car will carry a bold radiator grille, sharper headlights and is likely to have a more planted stance. In profile, the car would look much like the current model. At the rear, the Innova will get an all-new tailgate and a beefier bumper. Inside the cabin, the next-gen Innova could offer more space and higher levels of equipment.
Powering the 2016 Toyota Innova would be a new engine that would offer a significant increase in power and fuel economy. As must be obvious, the engine will also carry typical Toyota traits of high refinement and reliability. Stay tuned to AutoColumn for more on the next generation Toyota Innova.
