In the month of November this year, Audi will launch the second generation of one of the most desirable SUVs in India. Audi Q7 has made its mark in the Indian market by delivering comfort and power in the right amount. First launched in 2006, this SUV still turns heads not only in India but all across the world. The soon to be launched second generation model of the Q7 has already hit the roads of the international market and now it is being tested in India for is launch here.
2016 Audi Q7 will be powered by a couple of engine options. One can choose a 3.0-litre V6 diesel with 272 PS and 600 Nm torque or a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine having 333 PS and 440 Nm of torque. Both the mills will have an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Driven by these engines is a newly designed, aggressive looking, slim and sharp body which gives the desired feel of a Q7. The 2016 Q7 looks sophisticated with chiseled chrome grille, sharp tail and head lights and huge airdams. Also the SUV will be 325 Kgs lighter thanks to the extensive use of aluminum in the body. On the inside, the new Q7 will feel more spacious as in comparison with the outgoing model due to a longer wheelbase. The entire console and the interiors have a futuristic design with less buttons, 12.3-inch TFT screen, smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a multifunction steering wheel.
Audi has confirmed the 2016 Q7’s launch in the last quarter of 2015. 2016 Audi Q7 will face competition from other brands in this segment. To name a few, BMW X5, Mercedes GL and Porsche Cayenne will be on the top of the list Audi will have to watch for. Before the Q7’s launch, Audi is all set to launch the facelift versions of the Q3 and A6 soon.
