Nissan has landed a new special variant to Evalia MPV in India. This special variant comes with a price tag of 11.62 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has decided to call it the ‘Special Variant’. Well! They definitely did not make much effort with the name but opposite to that a lot of effort can be seen with the new updates introduced on the car.
The first change that you’d notice is its newly designed radiator front grille with its chrome finish. The special variant Evalia gets a sporty touch from its new aggressive front bumper with chrome updated fog-light. The list of new feature updates also has a rear spoiler, 10 spoke alloy wheel. That’s a lot of cosmetic change, isn’t it? But wait, Nissan has decided to give an upgrade to the car interiors too. The interior gets captain seats in the middle row, AC vents for rear passengers, a rear wiper & defogger,anti-glare internal, rear parking camera, and faux-wood finish on dashboard. Other features include 2 DIN stereo system, glove-box lid, front row assist grip etc.
Nissan also kept in mind the safety aspect during the upgrades and hence the new variant features a safety package comprising of ABS, EBD and dual front airbags.
Evalia is powered by Nissan’s 1.5-litre K9K motor churning out 86BHP of maxuimum power and 200Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This 1.5 liter diesel mill is proven in many cars from Renault and Nissan group. Definitely with this Special Variant Evalia, Nissan India has tried to stomp the market for its rivals, Evalia is definitely not the best looking MPV available in Indian market, but it is one of the most practical car. Speacial edition adds a lot of premium features like Honda Mobilio RS and the top-end Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. With success of Terrano, special edition experiment with Evalia will be welcomed by MPV buyers.
