The Honda CBR 650F is going to be launched tomorrow at the RevFest across 8 cities in India. Even before the launch, you can book yours for a token sum of 50,000. The Honda CBR 650F will be sold only its exclusive sales-service shop-in-shop network of elite ‘Wing World’ dealerships across 13 cities. The cities where the upcoming performance bike will be sold include New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar.
The CBR650F was a big draw at the last auto expo in Delhi last year. Since then its has been a long waiting game. Honda announced the Rev Fest across 8 cities on August 4 and the website for the event had gone live couple of weeks back. The CBR650R is proudly displayed in the background of the homepage, hinting that it may be launched on that particular day, which has been confirmed now.
The CBR600F comes with an 649cc Liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke inline four-cylinder, 16 valves engine. The max power output is 87 hp @ 11000 rpm. The torque is 63 Nm @ 8000 rpm. The powerplant, with a four-into-one exhaust, mounts in a twin-spar steel frame that carries a conventional fork with 41mm tubes and clip-on bars. Dual disc brakes with 320mm rotors and 240mm at the rear ensure that this new Honda CBR650F has the stopping power to back up its performance.
The 650F is going to be perfect tourer. With just 5% initial localization, it is going to cost far more than the competition in the form of Benelli TNT 600GT which carries a tag of 5.62 lakh ex-showroom. The only issue is whether Honda is able to get the pricing right. Sticker price of 7.5-8 lakhs will play a dampner for sure. Lets wait till tomorrow to know the pricing.
