Here’s some great news about the maruti MPV. It was in 2012, since when Maruti introduced the premium level MPV to have a nameplate as Ertiga and ever since the release it has brought glories and pouring into the segment starting with Honda Mobilio and Renault Lodgy .With some updated version on the hand, Ertiga is to be back.
The Maruti Ertiga facelift (Suzuki Ertiga facelift) will have its premiere on August 20, 2015 at the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show), a company official confirmed to AutoBild Indonesia. Andy Tjahjono, 4W Sales Director of PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales), told the publication that the company will have 27 cars on display, including the Ciaz and the Ertiga facelift.
Like the facelifted Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Ertiga is sure to have some deep changes in the interiors and a minor styling tweak on the exterior.
On the exterior, the new grille with chrome slats takes centre stage, along with an updated front bumper with chrome inserts. The alloy wheel design for top-spec trims and the wheel cap design for the mid- and lower-level trims will be all new. The interiors will be spruced up, and will now get new upholstery, automatic climate control for the Z-trims and a push-button start system. The infotainment system is also expected to see an upgrade along with power-folding wing mirrors. This is sure some great news on the facelifted Ertiga, isn’t it?
The updated Maruti Ertiga is expected to continue with the choice of power plants available in the current version.
Speaking on its engines, they will remain the same of the previous Ertiga; however, they would be tweaked for some improved fuel efficiency. The pre-facelift model with the 1.4-liter K-Series petrol sees an efficiency of 16.02 km/l while the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine delivers 20.77 km/l, both of which are not class-leading figures.
Maruti could dethrone the Honda Mobilio (current fuel efficiency leader) in this department. The Ertiga for the Indonesian market is exported by Maruti Suzuki by way of CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits. Hence, an Indian launch of the updated MPV is expected around the August-September period.
With this mid-cycle facelift, the Ertiga will be able to compete better with the likes of the Honda Mobilio and the recently launched Renault Lodgy MPV.
