Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to make its global debut early next year.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan was again spied on a test tour. These spied images come from a reader of Motoroids. The images are from Chennai, the automaker’s home. The Himalayan in the image is a near production model. It was caught parked without any camouflage. However, it is still wearing the all black color. The new spied image gives a clear view of the split seats. The Himalayan is expected to make its global debut early next year.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan is the first attempt of the English turned Indian automaker towards the touring segment. The new motorcycle will be offered with two options- one for city ride and other for long tours and mild-offroading. The spied images show that it is an open frame that rides the bike. However, the production spec is expected to come with a little more covering.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan will powered by a newly developed 410 cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine that comes with an oil-cooler. This motor is expected to produce 25-30 HP and a peak torque of around 30 NM. It will be mated on a six speed gearbox with ratios to suit the touring character of the motorcycle.
The new motorcycle does not have many competitors in the Indian market. The Indian market, in fact, will get its first local adventure touring motorcycle in the form of this motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Himalayan will also be exported in foreign markets from India. Currently, the Chennai based automaker is enjoying a very good time. The domestic sales are increasing along with the export demand on its peak.
