Maruti Suzuki Baleno launched at an extremely competitive price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh. The prices go all the way up to Rs 8.11 lakh. However, the company has said that this is an introductory offer and the Suzuki Baleno prices will go up after the festive season ends.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Vice President (NEXA Channel), Marketing & Sales said, “This is an introductory offer. We are going to, very soon, revise the prices. In fact, on a lighter note it is more of a Diwali gift to our Indian customers from Maruti Suzuki.”
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes in 5 petrol and 4 diesel variants across four trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The petrol powered engine is a 1.2-litre VVT unit churning out 84bhp and 115Nm of torque while the diesel mill is a 1.3-litre DDiS 190 engine that gives 74bhp and a more likeable 190Nm of torque.
It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox comes standard across all variants while a CVT automatic gearbox is only offered with the Delta petrol trim which costs Rs 6.76 lakh, ex-showroom. The Baleno has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 21.4km/l while the diesel offers an outstanding 27.39km/l.
Maruti’s premium hatch gets dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and anti-theft security system as standard features.
