The spy image that we have here shows that Tata Motors, among the leading players in Indian car market, is working on a facelift for its Safari Storme SUV. As you would’ve guessed, the Safari Storme facelift will rival the hotly anticipated Scorpio facelift, which has already been seen on numerous occasions and could be launched anytime now.
The Tata Safari Storme facelift, which could be just months away from launching in our car market, was recently spotted testing by CarToq and as per the new spy image, would carry some small changes in its exterior design that would help it to lock horns with the soon to be launched Mahindra Scorpio facelift. As can be guessed from the amount of camouflage seen on the Safari Storme test mule seen here, the updated model will come with a new front grille and along with a different bumper. At the rear too, there are good chances that the Safari Storme will get some minor revisions in the form of updated taillights and bumper. At the heart of the updated Safari would be the same 2.2-liter VARICOR turborcharged engine that powers the current Safari. However, there are good chances that the maximum power it would produce would be 150 PS, up from current 140 PS. Also, the torque, which currently stands at at 320 Nm, could see a marginal increase. The Safari Storme would be launched in both five speed manual and four speed automatic transmission and could even come with some new features that will make it better value for money.
