TVS Apache Spied
TVS Apache 220/250/300 has been in the pipeline for the longest time. The company had shown the Draken 250cc concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and it was believed to have launch by the end of 2014. However, nothing came our way sadly, but now, we think the production version is ready and the launch is just a few days away.
The bike was spotted by Powerdrift reader and from what we can see is that the production is set to commence. The bike has a minimalistic fairing, just like the Draken 250cc and has golden shock absorbers with a rear mono shock suspension. No attempt has been made to hide the TVS badging which can suggest the tests are in its final stages. The rear gets a meaty tire and has petal discs for both the wheels.
The technical specifications have not been in the public domain but if we are to go by the figures on TVS Draken, it will come with 250 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected motor, mated to a 6-speed transmission to produce 38.5 bhp and 23 Nm of torque.
The company has struck a partnership with BMW to develop sub 500cc engines and this might be the first bike to get the engine on the TvS side. BMW has already shown the G310 concept which is developed with stunt riding in mind. The bike was unveiled in Brazil earlier as a near-production ready concept with various features like lockable throttle, altered gear ratio, additional brake lever, axle pegs on the front axle, oversized rear wheel, larger rear brake, additional brake lever, axle pegs on the front axle, crash bars to protect engine, and the stunt tail.
The TVS Apache RTR has been on the market for a long time with three variant, the 160cc machine and the 180cc RTR with and without ABS.
