TVS Motor- the third- largest two-wheeler company in India, plans to launch a new commuter motorcycle in the 100cc- 125cc segment and an all-new TVS Apache in the next six months, to improve its market share from 12% to about 14.5% in the two-wheeler segment in India by increasing sales by 60,000 units.
President and Chief Executive of TVS Motor, K.N Radhakrishnan said “We will launch new products to enhance out tip line and market share. We plan to strengthen our TVS Phoenix range of products and will introduce a new product in this category in the next six months”.
Talking about TVS Motor- the company currently is operating out of 900 dealers and 3,000 sub-dealerships around the country and every year TVS Motor adds around 5-6% newer dealers. The company has an annual installed capacity of 2.8 million two-wheelers and produces around 2,30,000 units a month. Out of the total units produced TVS Motor sells about 1,70,000 units in India alone, while the rest of the products are exported. To add to these figures TVS Motor sells around 1.3 million two-wheelers in India every month.
