Mahindra and Mahindra launched a special edition of the XUV500, dubbed the XUV500 Sportz yesterday. The car is priced at 13.68 lakhs ex-showroom Mumbai.
The car is based on the W8 which is the top most variant of the XUV range. The sportz edition has changes on the outside to make it more appealing to the customers. The changes include red decals on the bonnet and sides, red inserts on the alloy wheels, door handles and front fog lamps and a red hue on the rear M&M logo. A pair of red stlized roof rails complete the changes.
To make it more interesting M&M has added a rear view camera and sporty seats which make it feel more upmarket than before. It has all the bells and whistles of the standard W8 like ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill ascent and hill hold function, 8 airbags etc.
The car is powered by the 2.2 litre mHawk engine with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) whic produces 140 bhp at 3750 rpm and 330 Nm of torque between 1600-2800 rpm. The power is sent to two wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox.
