BMW owned Mini launched all new Mini 3-door and Mini5-door in India. Started as an economical vehicle brand today Mini has grown up as luxury small car manufacturer. New generation Mini cars are developed on the new UKL platform that comes under BMW group common modular architecture. The highlight of the launch was the India friendly new 5-door design.
The new MINI Cooper D 3-door and the new MINI Cooper D 5-door’s are powered by1.5 litre 3-cylinder MINI TwinPower Turbo diesel motor propelling 270 Nm of torque and maximum power of 114 hp. It has a top speed of 200 km/h and makes 0 to 100 km/hr in mere 9.2 seconds. The power plant is controlled by six speed automatic transmission. Besides new engine Mini also gets new front suspension and rectified rear suspension set-up for a comfortable ride.
New Mini also gets the driving modes to match up with your driving moods, One can switch between GREEN, SPORT and MID mode, Green mode is for economical driving or SPORT mode to test the speed and agility. MID mode will give you the best of both Green and Sports mode.
Mini is equipped with features like Mini-Connect, where you can connect your smart phone to the car. One can Download the MINI Connected App and connect your MINI to Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare. Check your Newsfeeds on the high-resolution display or have them read to you via optional voice control. MINI head up display will remind you the fighter planes from the movies, where information is projected directly into your field of vision on a retractable screen.
Though MINI is an iconic brand and cannot be compared with other cars, in India it competes with Mercedes A-Class,GLA, B-class BMW 1-Series, Volvo V40 Cross Country as well as the upcoming Abarth 500.
