2016 Hero Hunk facelift has the same engine tuned to produce more power and torque.
One of the early 150 cc motorcycle from Hero (Hero Honda at that time), the Hunk has received a facelift. The 2016 Hunk was launched quietly. Hero’s official website has the details of the new hunk. The 2016 Hero Hunk facelift costs INR 69,725 for the base variant with single disc brake. The top-end variant with dual discs is priced at INR 72,825. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi. It is expected to come to the showrooms soon.
The 2016 Hero Hunk facelift looks very similar to the existing model. The main visual upgrade is the availability of new color options with new graphics. Other than this there are small upgrades on the side cowl which blends well with the new graphics. The exhaust heat shield has been redesigned. The tail light is now LED and comes with a white glass. Other than this, the instrument console is redesigned. It now comes with an analog tachometer, digital speedometer and a side stand indicator.
The engine of the 2016 Hero Hunk facelift is the same as the existing model. However, it is tweaked to produce more power and torque. The new 150 cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine produces a peak power of 15.6 HP @ 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 16.5 NM @ 7,000 RPM compared to the 14.2 HP and 12.8 NM in the previous model. This engine will continue to be mated on a 5-speed gearbox. The engine now breathes better, thanks to the new air filter.
The rear suspension of the motorcycle has been changed. The 2016 Hero Hunk facelift gets a new swingarm with 5 step inverted Gas Reservoir Suspension. The dimensions and the kerb weight of the new motorcycle has not gone under any changes. The braking department will handled by a 240 mm disc at the front and an optional 220 mm disc at the rear. The standard variant will get a 130 mm drum brake at the rear.
The new color options include Bold Brown, Panther Black, Matte Black, Ebony Grey, Force Silver and Blazing Red. The new 2016 Hero Hunk facelift will face direct competition from the Bajaj Pulsar 150 AS, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Unicorn 160, CB Hornet 160R and others in the segment.
