2016 Tata Hexa is expected to make its debut at the Auto expo 2016.
2016 Tata Hexa was recently spied by a reader of IndianAutosblog in production avatar in Pune. The car in the spy images looks complete. Though heavily camouflaged, we can make out that this prototype is a near production Hexa. The Tata Hexa was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. However, it was showcased as a concept. The Tata Hexa is expected to be launched at the Auto Expo 2016.

The Hexa seems to have got the flesh of the Aria but in a much better way. The new MPV from Tata will get the new signature honeycomb grille. The grille suits the newly unveiled Tata Zica. But, the same grille disappoints in the Tata Nexon which we recently spied. The Nexon or the Osprey will be Tata’s entry into the compact SUV segment. We expect the grille to suit the bulky Hexa.

The Tata Hexa gets projector headlamps with auto function which are similar to that of the Aria. The front fascia looks very muscular with the fog lights and thick chrome bar covering the lower part of the honeycomb grille. The hood of the spied Hexa looks similar to the Hexa concept. The sides, roofline and tail lamps also look similar. The Hexa is expected to carry most of its parts from the concept. The rear has dual exhaust tips similar to the Aria.
The upcoming MPV will get upmarket interiors. The interior will have a 6-seat layout with captain seats, leather upholstery and mood lights. The safety features will have ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and 6 airbags. Hexa will also get alloy wheels which add on to the muscular image of the MPV.
The Tata Hexa will be powered by a 2.2-liter, Varicor 400 turbodiesel engine that is good to produce 154.2 HP @ 4,000 RPM and a peak torque of 400 NM @ 1,700 to 2,700 RPM. This engine will be mated on a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic transmission is also expected to be offered. The Hexa will also come with a 4WD system similar to that of the Tata Safari. It will also get drive modes like the Zest/Bolt siblings.
