2017 Renault KWID Climber to hit the market soon!

Renault India is on the great move in 2017 with the 2017 Renault Kwid CLIMBER. 2017 Kwid Climber is all new Renault Kwid updated with a body kit to look like a crossover. While every other manufacturer is converting B+ segment hatchbacks into crossovers, Renault India is bringing a product to the entry level cars with crossover stance. Or, this is a new product to target Ignis? Let’s find out what all we got with all new 2017 Renault Kwid Climber.

In 2016 Auto Expo Renault India showcased two concepts with Kwid, Kwid Climber and Kwid Racer. Finally, the Kwid Climber has made to the production variant and it looks awesome! Exterior wise, the 2017 Kwid Climber gets black colour plastic body kit that is typically seen on crossovers. The front gets new skid plate with dual tone colours. On the side, the car boasts new CLIMBER sticker and at rear again the sticker work with faux skid plates. This model is very much different in the styling of bumper than what we already saw in Auto Expo Concepts.

The interiors of Kwid Climber gets again dual tone treatment with Orange inserts on the center console, door panel,  and dashboard. The car seats also get CLIMBER badge with dual tone colours. Gear knob and earlier chrome rings around AC vents are now orange in colour. There is a climber badge on the piano black finish steering wheel also. Overall, 2017 Renault Kwid Climber looks very sporty and happening from interiors.

Renault Kwid Climber Engine:

The power comes from 1 litre 3 pot petrol motor that pumps out 67 bhp and 91 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox and not AMT is planned in Renault Kwid Climber. The engine is believed to return 23.01 kmpl with 5-speed manual gearbox.

2017 Renault Kwid Climber Price:

All new Kwid Climber is expected to hit the market by next month and will be priced aggressively to target Maruti Suzuki Ignis. A price tag of around 5.5 lakhs is expected to come with updated Kwid. The features offered by Kwid Climber are more of cosmetic than practical but the first time car buyers lure for such features than practicality. Renault Kwid has seen a constant fall in the number of sales since August’16 (10719 units) to Jan’17 (6924) and this new update is expected to gain the traction again to reach number more than 9000 units.
