VW India finally got their most awaited top of the line SUV, the 2017 VW Tiguan. The 2017 VW Tiguan has priced at Rs. 27.6 lakhs for the Comfortline and Rs. 31 lakhs for the Highline variant. Available in only 2.0-liter diesel variants, the deliveries will start soon in coming days.
The 2.0-liter powerplant is mated to 7-speed DSG unit that pumps 143bhp with beautiful 340Nm of peak power and torque. The full time all wheel drive tech splits the torque at front and rear as and when required. 2017 VW Tiguan is based on MQB architecture and its the first SUV from VW India to come with MQB platform.
The 2017 VW Tiguan is marginally bigger than the Hyundai Tuscon and also competes with Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, and all new Isuzu MU-X. The new SUV from VW comes with 3 zone climate control, hill hold and assist, pedestrian safety, LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof and mirror connect infotainment system.
It will be interesting to know how the Skoda Kodiaq will find its space in this segment and knowing the fact that it is also based on MQB platform.
