Bajaj Auto has officially rolled out Pulsar RS 200 Demon Black edition with a price tag starting at Rs 1.20 lakh (non-ABS, ex-showroom, Delhi). It is essentially the RS 200 with a newly developed black base paint with red graphics. Mechanically, the motorcycle remains unchanged.
Commenting on the new introduction, Eric Vas, President Motorcycle Business said, “The Pulsar RS 200 has received an overwhelming response across the country and has achieved leadership in its segment in a short span of 4 months. The new Demon black edition is a beautiful bike which is combined with its racing genes and will certainly appeal to biking enthusiasts.”
The Pulsar RS 200, since its launch in March 2015 has already claimed leadership in the super sports motorcycle segment, with a sale of approx. 15000 bikes from 1st April-31st August and a market share of 43%. The Demon Black edition of Pulsar RS 200 will be powered by 199.5cc single cylinder, 4-stroke and SOHC 4valve, liquid cooled engine, which is tuned to churn out 24.5 ps of power @9,750rpm and 18.6nm of torque @8000rpm with a top speed of 141 km/h. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The Bajaj Pulsar was first launched in the year 2001 after which the Pulsar brand just took off with special interest from people wanting to perform stunts. Over the years, the ‘Pulsar’ brand has matured and evolved with engine displacements ranging from 135cc to 220cc. The Pulsar undoubtedly is the best selling model for Bajaj but also got the company into the limelight as a serious 2-wheeler manufacturer in India. Bajaj is expected to launch a 400cc Pulsar which will be the flagship model after its launch in coming months.
The bike will be available at an ex-showroom price starting from Rs.1,20,000/- (non-ABS) & Rs 1,32,001/- (ABS) ex-showroom Delhi and Rs. 1,20,485/- (non-ABS) & Rs 1,32,261/- (ABS) ex-showroom Maharashtra (without LBT).
