BMW refreshed the M6 GranCoupefor 2015; it was launched at its BMW studio in Mumbai, which is first of its kind studio in India. 2015 BMW M6 GranCoupe is priced at Rs. 1.71 Crore ex-showroom.
BMW’s four-door “coupe” comes in a performance version with a sport-tuned chassis and a 560-hp twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 punching 560 PS and 680 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 7-speed M-DCT gearbox, enabling the M6 GC to hit 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, before reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The M6 Gran Coupe is a rear-wheel-drive car, and the Active M Differential helps put the power to the ground in a spectacular manner. For 2015 the front and rear bumpers have been revised, there’s a new grille design and LED headlamps are standard. Like the M6 Coupe, the Gran Coupe gets a carbon fibre roof to help lower the centre of gravity and minimise weight.
The huge range of optional safety equipment includes surround-view, BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition, Park Assist, Lane Change Warning System and a Lane Departure Warning System
The new BMW M Studio is on the lines of Mercedes’s AMG Performance Center, where they exclusively showcase the respective brand’s performance range. BMW is looking to open 7 more M Studios in cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune by end of 2016.
