Wolfgang Bernhard is the chief of the Daimler truck division who stated at the demonstration that their trucks would provide better efficiency, connectivity and safety to the drivers. The New York Times mentioned in their article that the truck will be sensing the traffic conditions and driving accordingly without any human interference. It can achieve speeds of 85kmph or 52mph on a freeway. The Future Truck 2025 will be made by integrating all the technologies and innovations the company has developed over the years. The driver can take charge of the vehicle whenever they wish to.

For now Daimler has constructed only a single prototype which was demonstrated at the event. With strict regulatory and legal laws the company would have to face many hurdles to actually bring these self-driving trucks on road officially. The pricing of the trucks was not disclosed at the demonstration.
