As anticipated, the details for the 2015 Volkswagen Passat have emerged via a leaked presentation prior to its next month official launch. We had reported on the official teaser on the official teaser of the new Passat that was officially revealed over the internet (read here). We had also mentioned that one of the new engines for the Passat would be a 2.0-litre, 237bhp turbo-diesel, and yes that has been confirmed from the leaked documents today.
While the top end 2.0-litre diesel will put out 237bhp, the same engine would be also available in two different states of tune. The entry-level diesel would produce 148bhp while the mid-range model would give out 187bhp of power. There would be a smaller 1.6-litre 118bhp 4-cylinder engine that would complete the diesel range. On the petrol end, there would be a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine tuned to the state of 123bhp and 148bhp, while the later would feature Active Cylinder Technology(ACT). The top end would complete with 1.8-litre TSI set to a tune of 177bhp while a 2.0-litre TSI tuned with 217bhp and 276bhp.
The new Passat according to doccumentation would be 4767mm long and 85kgs lighter than its predecessor. While the rear will feature full LED taillights the front would get an option of full LED headlights with Dynamic Light Assist System. Inside, the cabin will take the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster from an Audi TT and the top end models would comprise of a HUD. The 2015 Passat would also pack a slew of safety features like City Emergency Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, Front Assist and other.
