“This car is a celebration of UK manufacturing at its very best, not only reinforcing our commitment to industry in this country, job creation and significant investment but to our home in Crewe. This is an important moment in our history, where we reflect and celebrate, but also look ahead to delivering this extraordinary car to our customers.
Bentayga houses an all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine. The mighty 12-cylinder unit combines efficiency and refinement with ultra-luxurious levels of power and torque. With a 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301 km/h, the Bentayga is the world’s most powerful and fastest SUV.
The first production Bentayga, finished in paint colour Anthracite and was handcrafted taking 130 hours to complete.. During the assembly process, the car passed through a new bodystore, a new paint shop and a new assembly line, all part of a substantial investment of £800 million investment.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron, commented: “I am delighted that the first Bentley Bentayga has rolled off the production line in Crewe. It marks the culmination of a period of exceptional hard work by Bentley and its dedicated workforce as they brought this remarkable new vehicle to market.”
Bentley is reportedly already working on a baby Bentayga with a lower price point. The company has introduced a limited Forst edition model which will cost £229,500. Only 608 First Edition Bentayga’s will be made; 608 represents the power the powerful engine makes, 608 PS.
