The facelifted Ford Figo hatchback has been revealed internationally, and the car is coming to India by the end of 2018. The Figo is called the Ka+ internationally, and it gets a range of changes both on the outside and inside. The changes to the car are very similar to the stylised bits of the Ford Freestyle, which was unveiled in India just last week.
Like the Freestyle, the Figo Facelift will get new front and rear bumpers, new headlamps, new fog lamps and revised alloy wheel design. The Figo Facelift will not have cladding and roof rails though. The interiors will be similar to the Freestyle, in that the dashboard will get a brand new touchscreen unit, similar to the one seen on the EcoSport Facelift.
This touchscreen infotainment module will feature Ford’s SYNC3 that has smartphone connectivity, emergency and voice assist functions. The Figo Facelift that will be launched in India will roll out of Ford’s Sanand factory in Gujarat. The new car will also use the newly launched 1.2 liter Dragon petrol 3 cylinder with with class leading outputs of 95 Bhp-120 Nm.
This engine will also get a new 5 speed gearbox from Getrag, which will replace the IB5 unit the pre-facelift model uses. The turbodiesel engine will remain unchanged, and will produce 98.6 Bhp-205 Nm from it’s 1.5 liter displacement, and four cylinder layout. A five speed manual gearbox will be standard with the diesel engine.
Ford is also expected to offer an automatic gearbox with the Figo Facelift, the exact details of which are not known for now. All of the above changes will come to the Aspire compact sedan facelift as well. The Figo Freestyle will be launched first in April 2018, followed by the Figo and Aspire Facelifts in the second half of the year.
