Ford India recorded 83 percent increase in sales in April, selling 13,297 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports, compared to 7,270 units sold in the corresponding period last year. Domestic sales stood at 6,651 vehicles in April, up 66 percent from 4,003 vehicles; while the company exported 6,646 vehicles, against 3,267 units in the corresponding period last year.
“Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April. In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.”
said Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.
Last week Ford India launched Ford Endeavour SUV in India at a price of Rs.19,83,898 (ex-showroom Delhi). Ford sells Classic sedan, Figo hatchback, and Fiesta Sedan in cars and in SUVs Ford India has Ecosport and recently launched Endeavour in fleet. EcoSport adds high sales in export as well as in India.
Considering new vehicles from Ford in 2014, the company will launch 2014 Ford Fiesta in coming months. Apart from new Fiesta, Ford recently added accessories as DRLs in hot selling compact SUV Ford EcoSport. The EcoSport compact SUV and 1 liter wonder have taken brand to new heights.
The 1 liter ecoboost engine was first develeoped by Ford and now every manufacturer has already developed similar engines by benchmarking two times international engine of the year from Ford. Ford has a lot of new vehicles in basket for India by 2015 that includes Figo Concept showcased at 2014 Auto Expo, Figo hatch facelift and all new Ford Endeavour. These new vehicles are strong contender in the market against competition and will keep the company at par with competition.
