Seems like Hero Motocorp is all set to revolutionize biking all over again in India. HX250R treated motorcycle enthusiast with agape, who must have wondered seeing Hero plan such a jaw dropping feast at Autoexpo. Hero is getting more and more aggressive for Indian auto sector, for the neophytes Hero Motocorp is the only Indian manufacturer to achieve production milestone of 50 million units.
Just a few days before Autoexpo, Hero unveiled one of the most powerful quarter litter single cylinder motorcycle, the HX250R. Hero showcased big line up of upcoming Motorcycles, scooters and technology. Here’s the compilation of all upcoming offerings from them.
Hero unveiled five new scooters one for everyone, starting with the flamboyant Hero Dash, which will be a 111 cc, 4 stroke forced air cool engine. Hero Dash produces 8.44 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 9.4 Nm of torque at 5750 RPM. It features a key operated external fuel lid like TVS Jupiter and also comes with service due and side stand indicator warnings in the console. The scooter also gets a mobile charging socket under seat and the space is also claimed to be larger and which also gets a light.
Well, next scooter is mighty ZIR. The ZIR range comes with a powerful & efficient 150 cc liquid cooled engine that produces 14 bhp @ 8500 rpm, and has a host of amazing features like Hero Ride Start which enables any rider to connect his smartphone with ECU to get information’s like trip details, fuel efficiency, Intelligent Air Flow Technology, and Dual Lighting System – Day Light Lamp. Hero has offered ZIR in two variants; style step thru model while the other is a flat floor model.
Next one is Hero Leap which was showcased in last years Autoexpo as well. Leap is India’s first series hybrid scooter; uses lithium-ion batteries to power its 8kW (approximately 10.7bhp) electric motor. It also has an on-board generator set powered by an extremely efficient all-new 124cc engine.
Hero RNT’s rear wheel is powered by a 150cc Diesel engine, while front wheel runs on an electric motor. Diesel engine on RNT also doubles up as a generator. RNT is packed with innovative features like detachable headlamps that acts as a torch, provision for attaching ploughs and harvesters, extendable frame for attachments, enhanced load carrying capacity, which will surely prove it as a backcountry survival tool to not only adventure motorcyclists but also for farmers in rural area’s.
Next mayhem is Hastur which comes with a water-cooled parallel twin engine that delivers the power of 80 PS @ 9600 rpm. This explosive power delivery comes from a new and a very compact power plant that serves as a stressed member of the chassis for optimum mass centralization to give it’s best in class handling and maneuverability.
Hero also unveiled first of its kind Urban Electric Motorcycle, “SimplEcity”. Weighing just 34 kg, SimplEcity comes with a removable battery which can be charged at home/office. One can connect his smartphone and convert it into dashboard by free “SimplEcity” mobile app.
Hero iON is future oriented Hydrogen-Cell powered two wheel concept motorcycle. Hydrogen fuel cell becomes the heart of the structure situated at the center. iON carries advanced Li-Air batteries which uses oxygen from air of storing it in an oxidizer. Attractive part is hubeless wheels that are powered with traction motors, which use magnetic levitation for zero friction. These hubs can double up as brakes. iON offers touch screen controls, all round sensors that inform the rider about traffic, m-link suspension with magneto rheological damping. Packed with futuristic feature we really hope to see iON on roads one day.
Along with these, Hero also showcased a Café Racer version of legendary Splendor Classic Pro and On-OFF road version on Passion TR-PRo. Spendor Café Racer looked simple yet graceful. No they have not showcased it to compete with any other Café racers in market, it’s just a tribute to Hero who has done so much and has nothing to prove, who changed the complete biking scenario in India. Hero has sold more than 20 million Splendors so far.
