Mahindra two-wheelers will launch its all new commuter scooter, the Gusto, on the 29th of September. The Gusto will be launched exclusively for the northern and western region of the country for the time being. Nepal will also get the scooter on the same day. The scooter will be launched in the African and Latin-American markets subsequently.
The Mahindra Gusto will have a new 110cc aluminium M-Tec engine with 8 bhp of power on tap. Mahindra has included a remote key which will able to start the engine from a short distance.
The Gusto is Mahindra two-wheelers first attempt at a gearless bike since it took over Kinetic motors a few years ago. It has been developed in-house at the Pune facility with styling inputs from Italy and is first for the company in terms of having a same product for national and international market. According to the company, the scooters ushers in a GUST of fresh air and symbolizes freedom.
The company named this product the G101 internally and has been testing it for quite a while now. It has finally adapted the Mahindra legacy of having an “O” as the last alphabet of the products name.
The Gusto aim to blow off the age-old-yet-going-strong Honda Activa and the recently launched Lets from Suzuki. We expect Mahindra to price the Gusto competitively around INR 40,000 – 45,000.
